During my working time for selling lashes, one of the most asked questions is: What is the difference between mink lashes and silk lashes? I am writing this article now to let you know how to distinguish those lashes.
The first thing you need to know is that mink lashes and silk lashes are made of totally different material. Mink lashes are made of mink fur which is animal hair, while the silk lashes are made of synthetic silk , which is totally vegan.
With that knowledge, the first way to distinguish mink lashes and silk lashes is to see their appearance. The mink lashes have the lustre of animal hair, compared with silk lashes, mink lashes could be brighter.
The thickness of mink hair is around 1mm, while the synthetic silk hair mostly used is 0.7mm. So that the silk lashes can be lighter and softer than mink lashes. This could be the second way to distinguish them.
The last way is not recommended because you need to burn the lashes to tell. Mink lashes are flame-retarded, and they’ll be burned to ash. However, silk lashes are comburent, and they’ll burned to a bump.
Above are common used ways to distinguish mink lashes and silk lashes, if you have any questions or any other ways to tell the difference, please leave us messages. Thanks in advance.
